Alex Murphy

Alex Murphy was raised in Alabama where she attended the Alabama School of Fine Arts in Birmingham, Alabama. In 2011, she graduated Magne Cum Laude from the University of Alabama (UA) in Tuscaloosa, Alabama with a B.A. in Dance Performance and a B.A. in International Studies. During this time, she performed lead roles with the Alabama Repertory Dance Theatre and Dance Alabama! organizations in The Nutcracker, La Bayadere, Cinderella , Flames of Paris, Swan Lake , There is a Time, and many more. While at UA, Alex received the Gage Bush-Englund Award, Edith Barnes Scholarship Award, and Theatre Gift Fund Scholarship, and additionally received the honor of guest performer at the Alabama Dance Festival in 2008-10. Currently, she resides in Nashville performing with the Numinous Flux Dance Company under the direction of Laura Valentine and teaches with Artistry in Motion.
